We are excited to invite you to join our session this upcoming Saturday, May 13th, 2023, to meet our special guest, Thầy Đạo Quảng (TĐQ)
Thầy Đạo Quảng (TĐQ) started his training as a Zen monk since 1991 in Vietnam with a well-known Vietnamese Zen Master Thích Thanh Từ. He was also influenced by the teachings of Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh and incorporated the learnings into his practice. TĐQ immigrated to America in July 1994 and enrolled in college to improve his English. While learning the English language, he discovered a fascination for the human mind and pursued his studies in psychology. TĐQ eventually earned a B.S. in Psychology from Georgia State University, a M.Ed. in Community Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a Ph.D. in Health Psychology at Walden University. As an experienced mindfulness meditation teacher with over 30 years of practical experience in therapeutic relationships, TĐQ has worked with diverse groups, including youths, senior citizens, substance dependents, and those incarcerated. TĐQ is currently a mindfulness teacher and abbot of Tam Bảo Temple in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
TĐQ served as an adjunct professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a mindfulness meditation teacher at the Journey Home Treatment Center in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Additionally, TĐQ is a frequent speaker at interfaith summits with other community religious leaders and an invited lecturer at religious institutions, cross-cultural educational programs, mental health organizations, treatment centers, local universities, and youth organizations. Through his work and practice, TĐQ hopes to bring people from different cultures, race, and nationalities together to enjoy life in Peace, Harmony, and Happiness.
