Chicken VS Egg: Which came first?

One of my clients recently told me that they needed to make more profit in order to be able to hire me as their CFO.

I told them, “Sounds like you’re in the chicken-egg dilemma!”

If you think about it, operating a business is not as simple as deciding what should come first (like the chicken or the egg…) anymore.

It actually requires a lot more of the right type of chicken, cage, food, farmers, machinery, light, thermostats, etc… to decide whether the chicken should be sold as meat or used to lay more eggs.

Each business owner should equip themselves with knowledge and get the wisdom from a board of advisors or business coaches that can guide them. They should not have to figure out the chicken-egg dilemma themselves.

There are so many resources nowadays. Every successful entrepreneur surrounds themselves with a team. If you look into all of the top successful entrepreneurs, they start their business journey with a partner. Mark Zuckerberg partnered with Chris Hughes, Paul Allen co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates, Elon Musk with J. B. Straubel to launch Tesla, and more.

It is important to remember Adrian Proverb’s wise words: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
